Everyone knows that exercise has many benefits including decreasing your risk of heart disease, diabetes and other chronic illness. But did you know, it also makes you look and feel younger?
WSCH offers a variety of exercise programs geared for those who are active to those who need a more modified program. These programs and activities are made possible by grants from the Cuyahoga County Division of Senior & Adult Services and Community West Foundation.
Healthy Bodies-Healthy Minds is exercise for the mind too. Current program offerings include:
- A Matter of Balance
- Computer Classes
- Dance Fitness
- Interactive Gaming
- Line Dancing
- Pump It Up (seated exercise)
- Song Slingers
- Wii Bowling
Other activities such as puzzle building, computer lab, and Bingo are offered daily.
FREE health screenings, prescription drug review and visits by nurses and a licensed podiatrist occur each month. We also have presentations and informal talks on subjects such as those listed below.
- The Facts about HIV and STDs
- What You Need to Know About a Living Will
- Avoiding Scams and Frauds
- Home Safety Measures
- Dealing With Grief
- Cooking Without Salt
- Healthy Aging
Theatrical productions are held periodically throughout the year. Here are photos from our last production, West Side Blues.
Recreational Field trips both to local sites and out of town are scheduled throughout the year. We take one trip per month.
