Service Area
People come to WSCH for services from all over the Greater Cleveland area including nine Cleveland neighborhoods. Our core service area includes Ohio City, Detroit-Shoreway, Cudell, Stockyards, and West Boulevard while the people living in the bordering areas of Tremont, Clark-Fulton, Edgewater, and Jefferson also receive services. Income statistics from the 2000 Census show over 50,000 people in these neighborhoods live at low income to below poverty levels. Over 32% of the neighborhood families with children live below the poverty level, and 8,800 of the children in those families are under the age of 12. Not just the young are affected. Over 1,400 neighborhood residents aged 65 and older live below the poverty level.
